The weekend is here, and you’re worried you’ll be bored. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! Whether you are a foodie, shopaholic (guilty!), or an outdoorsman, Williamsburg and its neighboring cities has what you’re looking for.

Walking distance:

Shopping downtown

  • The Suds Barn & Boutique
    • A cute boutique with the best homemade soaps, body scrubs, and so much more. Check out their clothing in the back of the store.
  • Bo Bo’s Boutique
    • Visit Bo Bo’s for all of your stylish needs. They have the cutest clothes!
  • Williamsburg Game Café
    • The Game Café is the place for all things involving games! They’re open Thursday through Saturday, which is perfect for some weekend fun.
  • JennieLyn Boutique
    • Another boutique that satisfies my shopaholic heart.
  • Friendship Center
    • Something about thrifting just screams weekend plans to me. Save money and support local businesses? Sounds like a win-win to me!

For the food critics

  • The Brick Oven
    • Fresh pizza baked in a real brick oven by an open flame. Need I say more?
  • Copper Top Tap
    • You don’t have to wait for Superbowl weekend to indulge in buffalo chicken dip and wings, that’s just a normal weekend at Copper Top Tap.
  • Moonbow Mercantile
    • First off, the food here is amazing, BUT ALSO no weekend should end without getting ice cream from Moonbow Mercantile.
  • The Butcher’s Pub
    • Trust me on this one. Butcher’s Rangoon’s, Irish Nachos, live music, what else could you need?
  • Cumberland River Coffee
    • A quick walk to fresh coffee, smoothies, and pastries. Yes, please!

Outside Fun

  • Briar Creek Park
    • My favorite thing to do at the park is have picnics, but disc golf, walking the track, or swinging on the swings are also good options.
  • Kentucky Splash Waterpark & Campground
    • Floating in the lazy river after a long week is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

5-minute drive:

  • Goodwill, The Store, Williamsburg Vendors Mall
    • While they’re all different in their own ways, if you’re down for a thrift-y weekend, check out these stores!
  • Sabor Latino
    • A good quesadilla can elevate any weekend to a 10/10. And their made-to-order guacamole is the best in town.
  • G&E Burgers
    • If you’re a burger and fries’ person, go to G&E. If you’re not a burgers and fries’ person, go to G&E still (and get my personal favorite: Philly Cheese Steak and Cheddar Bites.)
  • Highland Park Drive-In
    • This place radiates nostalgia and has the tastiest food.

20 Minute Drive (Corbin, KY):

  • Tri-County Cineplex
    • This is just a classic. How do you beat a trip to the movie theater?
  • Harland Sanders Café and Museum
    • KFC tastes better when you’re eating at the original restaurant.
  • The Corbin Arena
    • Monster trucks, the rodeo, and so much music. Buy your tickets and make some memories this weekend!
  • Tomahawks
    • Axe throwing and cornhole might be the best stress relief out there.
  • Pinball Museum
    • Who doesn’t want to feel like they just stepped into the 80’s? You can play any of the 70+ pinball machines and vintage video games while also learning game trivia about each one you play.
  • The Great Escape
    • Grab your friends and see if you can solve the riddles and puzzles to escape a themed room in 60 minutes or less.

30 Minute Drive:

  • Cumberland Falls
    • The views there are breathtaking. Take your time, enjoy the scenery, get some exercise, and just breathe it all in.
    • Whitley County, KY
  • Sheltowee Trace Adventure Resort
    • After your hike at the Falls, you might want to drive an extra 5 miles to Sheltowee! They offer canoeing, kayaking, and white-water rafting.
    • Corbin, KY
  • Ross, Belk, JCPenney
    • Cute clothes, great prices, all in the same strip mall. Enough said.
    • Corbin, KY
  • Laurel Lake
    • It’s the closest we get to a beach, and time at the lake is arguably better anyway.
    • Laurel County, KY (In between London & Corbin, KY)
  • Air Raid Trampoline Park
    • If hiking isn’t your jam, that’s okay! At Air Raid, you can jump around like a kid again, play dodgeball, climb the wall, or do the American Ninja-esque obstacle course.
    • London, KY
  • Finley’s Fun Center
    • There are few things in the world that are more fun than roller-skating with your friends. Plus, there’s laser tag.
    • London, KY
  • Local Honey
    • Brunch or dinner, the Local Honey is the spot to be. They offer a unique dining experience with a spin on your favorite comfort foods. I am such an appetizers person, and they get a 10/10 for that alone.
    • London, KY
  • Fariston’s Haunted Forest
    • I am not a haunted ANYTHING person, but the haunted forest is a Halloween season must for anyone in a spooky mood. Fariston’s is open September – October, so keep this one in mind for Halloween.
    • London, KY

What’s crazy is that this is only a fraction of what is available downtown in the ‘Burg and in our surrounding area. Williamsburg may be a small town, but there’s plenty of good times waiting for anyone willing to get out of their dorm room. Once you’ve tried all these places, keep exploring, and you’ll find way more to do! Enjoy your weekend!
