A native of Laurel County, Kentucky, Dr. Cailen Wattenbarger Baker has greater than 18 years of experience in a variety of healthcare settings including acute care, leadership, nursing education, academia, and psychiatry. Dr. Baker resides in Kentucky with her husband and two daughters. She came to Â鶹´«Ã½ and opened the School of Nursing in 2014, with nursing not being part of the University since the 1970's. Dr. Baker serves the Appalachian community through her work at Â鶹´«Ã½ and also through ownership of a private practice in southeastern KY where she practices psychiatric care one day per week.
