University recognized for its safety, campus, size, and more

The 2025 Niche rankings have been released, and Â鶹´«Ã½ stands out in both the state and national categories.

Cumberlands was ranked as the safest college campus in Kentucky, 15th safest in the nation. The university also holds the No. 2 spot for Best College Campus in Kentucky and was ranked third in the category of Best Small College in Kentucky.

The rankings come from Niche, a website that works to connect students with colleges by creating in-depth profiles of American colleges and universities. The company collects its ranking information not just from students, but also from sources like the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. Niche’s goal is to help users discover which institution is right for them. Niche collected more than 100 million reviews from students to create more than 200,000 profiles that showcase universities, K-12 schools, places to live, and places to work.

In addition to the previously mentioned rankings, Cumberlands secured second place on Niche for Best College for Education in Kentucky. It ranked No. 3 for Best College for Psychology in Kentucky and for Top Private University in Kentucky.

Â鶹´«Ã½ has ranked well among other entities in the past year. For instance, Money magazine mentioned Cumberlands on two separate lists, first as one of the most affordable schools in the nation, and secondly for the university’s notable online undergraduate programming. Additionally, Cumberlands was named a 2024/25 Gold Military Friendly® School. The university is also enjoying its seventh consecutive year to receive the national honor of being named College of Distinction.
